ALBANY – Country superstar Garth Brooks took a break from his three-night stand at the Times Union Center to get in a little football.

The Garth Brooks Teammates for Kids Foundation hosted a pro camp at UAlbany on Saturday. Dozens of kids from all over the area got the chance to participate, along with Brooks and UAlbany head coach Greg Gattuso.

Brooks hosts a pro camp at each city he stops in during his tour.

“We love what we do, and we love coaching kids," Gattuso said. "But most of all, we love giving back to those young people, and to be a part of this is special for us."

“Of all the things I've done, I don't think I've ever got to be a part of anything as important as this,” Brooks said. “I love Teammates. It's all about trying to give kids an equal start, and that's what it's all about.”

Brooks will take to the stage at the Times Union Center again Sunday night.
