GLENS FALLS -- Hundreds of military family members and friends gathered outside the former Glens Falls Civic Center on Sunday to show their support for the uniformed men and women celebrating the holiday season overseas.

The group marched through the heart of Glens Falls, reminding everyone of the sacrifices military members make to protect our freedoms.

"It means the world to me to come out and support our troops that are out in harms way any time of the year, but especially this time of the year," said Dan Nolin of the 7th Riders of New York.

The four-mile march was put on by the local branch of the New York Army National Guard soldiers and airmen.

This year's march also commemorated the World War I centennial of service, honoring New York soldiers who arrived in France back in 1917.
