Grand jury indicts mother accused of harming child

A grand jury has handed up a nine-count indictment against Marissa Bickford-Rice in Washington County.

She's is accused of throwing her 4-year-old step-daughter to the ground last September, slamming her head. Kaiden Rice suffered a fractured skull, and hemorrhaging of the brain, as well as a broken arm.

Kaiden is still learning to walk and talk again.

The Schenectady County District Attorney’s Office has been appointed to prosecute the case because of a conflict of interest with a Washington County Assistant District Attorney.
