Gun tossed in Pittsfield police chase

PITTSFIELD, Mass. - For the second time this week, a gun is tossed during a police chase in Pittsfield.

Police say officers tried to pull over Adam Masefield for driving with a suspended license, but Masefield took off.

He was driving his grandmother's car near Herberg Middle School when police say he stopped, got out and took off on foot.

As they chased him, they say Masefield tossed a loaded semi-automatic gun to the ground.

He was caught and arrested a short distance later.
