Homeless shelters at the ready during cold snap

December 29, 2017 01:16 PM

There is no one more at risk in this extreme cold than our homeless population. Anyone without a warm place to sleep is encouraged to seek shelter.

"Last night, we were at 289 people under our roofs and it was cold and it was good to have everybody here. We're as packed as we can be and we're glad to be that way, in the sense that we're taking care of real needs," explained Perry Jones, the director of the Capital City Rescue Mission.
