Miranda was driving while intoxicated on Bluebird Road in Moreau last August, when his car went off the road and hit a tree. His passenger, 16-year-old Zachery Brown, was killed. A 14-year-old passenger also in the vehicle was seriously hurt.

Authorities say Miranda was going over 100 miles per hour when he lost control and crashed.
