Albany man sentenced in check fraud scheme

ALBANY - The man behind a major check fraud scheme is heading to prison.

Jahquel Robertson, 22, of Albany made forged checks used at banks and Price Chopper branches in Albany County. Prosecutors say they were scammed out of around $41,000.

Prosecutors say many of the forged checks were found on a laptop in Robertson’s home.

Robertson was sentenced to 3 2/3 to 11 years in state prison.
