SLINGERLANDS -- Lightning is believed to have sparked a house fire in Slingerlands.

The family says they heard the lightning around 9 or 10 p.m. Thursday night at 1613 New Scotland Road. The fire chief believes that started the fire. It smoldered for a couple of hours before the flames started shooting through the roof.
