SCHENECTADY - Union College is getting national recognition after a rare discovery.
A lock of George Washington's hair was found inside an almanac in a library at the college.
The 18th century book belonged to a general who was a friend of the first president. It was found on top of a shelf by the college's archivists. No one is sure how it got there.
Now, they're tracing the college's connections to George Washington and his inner circle.
