Man convicted of fatal Lake George boat crash to remain in jail

Alex West will remain in jail as he awaits sentencing for manslaughter. NewsChannel 13 has learned an Appellate judge on Thursday denied West's request for bail, pending appeal.

The 25-year-old Lake George man was convicted May 8 of manslaughter and leaving the scene of the July boat crash that killed 8-year-old Charlotte McCue.

West's attorneys sought bail and a stay of the verdict as they appeal. However, Judge William McCarthy denied the bail application Thursday afternoon.

West faces a maximum of seven and a third to 22 years in prison when he's sentenced on June 5.
