Alex West will remain in jail as he awaits sentencing for manslaughter. NewsChannel 13 has learned an Appellate judge on Thursday denied West's request for bail, pending appeal.
The 25-year-old Lake George man was convicted May 8 of manslaughter and leaving the scene of the July boat crash that killed 8-year-old Charlotte McCue.
West's attorneys sought bail and a stay of the verdict as they appeal. However, Judge William McCarthy denied the bail application Thursday afternoon.
West faces a maximum of seven and a third to 22 years in prison when he's sentenced on June 5.
