Montgomery County dentist accused of stealing $11,000 on fake claim

CANAJOHARIE - A dentist from Montgomery County is under arrest, accused of stealing thousands of dollars.

Martin Sorbero, 62, operates a dental office in Canajoharie.

State police say he stole $11,000 by forging a patient's signature on a Care Credit application, then falsely reporting that he completed dental work on that patient.

Police say numerous other victims have been identified including a dead woman.

Additional charges are expected.
