Rivers Casino general manager leaves

SCHENECTADY - The woman who oversaw the construction and opening of Rivers Casino has left.

Rush Street Gaming said in a statement Monday that Mary Cheeks has decided to "pursue other opportunities outside of the Company."

Cheeks had been with Rush Street Gaming for seven years and was named to lead the Schenectady casino in 2015.

It’s unclear why she left.

The company says Assistant General Manager Justin Moore will serve as interim general manager for now.
