Man involved in deadly heroin deal gets 10 years in prison

A heroin dealer who supplied the drug that killed a local woman was sentenced in federal court.

Matthew Charo will spend the next 10 years in prison.

Back in August, Charo pleaded guilty in federal court to distributing a controlled substance. Authorities say he supplied heroin to Katie-Lynn Sheidt in 2014. He and the victim knew each other.

The Saratoga High School graduate overdosed and died at her home after using the heroin.
