Duanesburg man accused of stealing hay

A Duanesburg man was arrested for stealing hay.

State police say 43-year-old Matthew Vedder picked up a load of hay from a person in the town of Mohawk.

Troopers say he paid the $3,400 bill with a personal check and the check was no good. The seller left messages for Vedder to make good on the check, but he failed to return and pay for the hay.

Vedder was arrested and charged with grand larceny.
