Mekeel Christian Academy reopens after flu outbreak

Mekeel Christian Academy in Scotia reopened Tuesday morning.

Classes were canceled there Monday, because too many people were out with the flu.

It's a small school, but 10 percent of students and nearly 25 percent of the staff called out sick.

The head of school, Chad Bowman, told NewsChannel 13 he's never seen anything like it.

The school brought in a private cleaning company to sanitize classrooms, hallways and bathrooms.
