Man accused of trying to sell $4,800 painting stolen from art gallery

A man in Warren County is accused of trying to sell a stolen $4,800 painting.

The sheriff’s department says 61-year-old Michael Vittengl swiped the painting from an art gallery in Saratoga Springs.

Vittengl is also accused of trying to solicit donations from businesses for a fictitious masquerade ball.

He was sent to the Warren County Jail in lieu of bail.

Anyone who may have purchased tickets from Vittengl is asked to call the Warren County Sheriff’s Department at (518) 743-2500.
