Middleburgh man accused of attacking court defendant

A spectator in Schoharie County court is accused of attacking a defendant during a court proceeding.

Authorities say 37-year-old Rickie Mickle of Middleburgh ran to the table where the defendant was sitting and assaulted him.

Three deputies were injured as they subdued the attacker. Their injuries are not serious.

The court defendant Mickle is accused of attacking has not been identified.

NewsChannel 13 has a call out to the Schoharie County Sheriff's Department to find out what the defendant was in court for and why Mickle attacked him. So far, we're still waiting to hear back.
