Man who threatened to kill school kids gets additional probation

A man from Moreau who threatened to kill schoolchildren was sentenced to an additional year of probation on Wednesday.

Peter Breault pleaded guilty last spring to attempted coercion. Police say he was keeping a journal for one of his classes at SUNY Adirondack. In that journal, investigators say they found entries about carrying out a mass shooting.

NewsChannel 13’s media partners at the Post-Star report the judge praised the progress Breault is making with his mental health counseling and reduced his charge to a misdemeanor.
