Bennington County man killed after crashing into reservoir

A Bennington County man is dead, killed when his car crashed into a reservoir near the Vermont-Massachusetts border.

According to NewsChannel 13’s media partners at The Berkshire Eagle, Vermont State Police were called after someone spotted the car in the Sherman Reservoir on Saturday morning.

They say 61-year-old Nelson Rix of Readsboro was alone in his car.

They believe the vehicle slid off Tunnel Street, crashed through trees, over an embankment and into the reservoir.
