Vote of no-confidence cast against UAlbany police chief

ALBANY -- Police at UAlbany say they are discouraged from making arrests or writing tickets.

A vote of no-confidence in UAlbany police chief J. Frank Wiley, the deputy chief, and the university administration was announced Sunday.

The Police Benevolent Association passed the motion last week. They say it comes after years of disputes over safety issues, contract violations, retaliatory behavior, and sustained dysfunction and mismanagement.
