CAMBRIDGE -- An old door at Cambridge Central School is now preserved in an exhibit.

That's because that door to the principal's office is featured in Norman Rockwell's painting known as “Girl With Black Eye” or “The Shiner.”

Rockwell traveled to Cambridge Central School in 1953 to take pictures of the principal's office for the painting.

When voters recently decided to renovate the school, one of the teachers decided that door had to be preserved so he set up the exhibit. It's outside of the school library.
