Patrols were informed that at least one person was believed to be inside the home.

Entry attempts were made to aid anyone inside, but they were unsuccessful due to heavy smoke.

The Jonesville Fire Department said flames were knocked down within 15 minutes and there was significant damage to one bedroom.

After the fire had been contained, it was confirmed that one person had perished inside.

The identity of that person and the cause of the fire are still under active investigation by the Saratoga County Sheriff's Office.

We will update this story as more information becomes available.
