Testimony in Oquendo murder trial takes unexpected turn

TROY - Testimony took a shocking turn Thursday at the Johnny Oquendo murder trial. He is accused of killing his stepdaughter and stuffing her into a suitcase.

Oquendo's ex-girlfriend took the stand Thursday afternoon.

She is a crucial witness for the prosecution as she plans on testifying that the suitcase in this case belongs to Oquendo.

However, the defense - in an attempt to discredit her - alleged that she was engaged in sexual behavior involving animals.

Five other witnesses took the stand on Thursday. Two of them were forensic scientists who conducted rape tests on the alleged victim.

Prosecutors are trying to show evidence that Oquendo was in a consensual sexual relationship with his stepdaughter.
