Pedestrian hit in Watervliet accident

WATERVLIET - A man was hit by a car on Second Avenue in Watervliet  this afternoon.

The driver of a black Chevrolet stayed on the scene. The driver's passenger told WNYT the man came out of nowhere and that they weren't speeding.

He also told WNYT the man who was hit was bleeding from the head and unconscious before the ambulance took him away.

Watervliet police were reconstructing the accident and were planning on reviewing security footage from the Rite Aid.

There is no update on the man's condition or if the driver is facing any charges.
