Another phone scam is targeting seniors in our area. This latest one is being reported in Albany County.

County Executive Dan McCoy says the caller claimed to be a public defender in Albany County and in one case, even put his fake grandson on the line asking for help.

McCoy says the public defender's office does not call family members of those arrested, nor does the office take money to arrange for bond.

If you get a call like this, hang up and call police.
