Police: Man broke into building, set it on fire

GLOVERSVILLE -- Gloversville police were kept quite busy by one man on Tuesday.   

They say 32-year-old Mitchell Swart broke into a building, set it on fire, and then managed to escape once he was caught.

The building at 33 Bleecker Street is the former YMCA. Police say Swart broke in and used an accelerant to start a fire. He was caught, but then police say he managed to escape, briefly at the police station.

He was taken back into custody in the parking lot.
