CAIRO -- Authorities in Cairo are investigating a possible overnight arson.

Fire officials say they were called to Grandview Road off Route 23 around 3 a.m. Sunday. The call was reported as a brush fire, but when they arrived, fire crews say they found something much different.

"When my first units arrived, they found a small building on fire, with power lines across the roadway, so we couldn't get our trucks in," said Cairo Fire Department Chief Raymond Feml. "Twenty minutes after that, the second structure turned fully involved within minutes."

Fire crews say the buildings were part of an old, vacant resort. Both were completely burnt down. They say there was no electricity in the building, and no lightning storms overnight, leading them to believe the fire was intentionally set.

State Police are now investigating.

No one was hurt.
