Shoppers hit the malls for many happy returns -- and bargains

COLONIE - The day after Christmas brings people to the mall for two primary reasons – gift returns or bargains.

At Colonie Center, NewsChannel 13 spotted several people getting out of their cars with shopping bags, heading into the mall. However, there were plenty of people lugging shopping bags with plenty of new purchases.

Retailers are hoping to make sure the pre-Christmas shopping momentum continues after the holiday. They're offering deep discounts – sometimes 50 percent or more.

If you're planning to return a gift, it's a good idea to know your store's return policy and time limit.
