800+ turkeys ready for annual Equinox Thanksgiving dinner

SCHENECTADY - It was a turkey takeover in Schenectady on Tuesday. Price Chopper loaded up a truck with more than 800 turkeys.

It's for the annual Equinox Thanksgiving Day Community Dinner. Free meals are served at the First Presbyterian Church in Albany. They're also delivered to community members.

They serve around 10,000 people each year and organizers say they are always looking for help.

"What we really would like to focus on this year, is we need more volunteer drivers. So if they're interested, they need to call the hotline number, because we like to register them just to make sure that we can keep track and know that we have enough to get all the meals delivered on Thanksgiving Day," explained Christina Rajotte with Equinox Community Relations and Development.
