Dozens of people marched throughout the capital Saturday to defend their right to bear arms.

The rally was in response to the recent March for Our Lives movement, which called for stricter gun control measures.

Organizers of Saturday's rally say they wanted to take this time to explain to people why the Second Amendment is important.

"That reason is because they're not hating types of people," Dan Devlin said of the people attending the rally. "They're people who love their families and love innocent people and they want to be available in order to defend them if they need it."

Second Amendment rights rallies took place in capitals throughout the nation Saturday.
