Woman creates beautiful art using hair as the canvas

SCOTIA - When you think of mermaid, chances are it’s the mythical, beautiful, half-human, half sea creation. That’s one definition. However, the one we’re talking about has women "dyeing" to meet a Scotia woman.

Jordan Glindmyer is carefully mixing her colors and prepping for her canvas. However, that canvas is not cotton or linen – it’s hair that she turns into unique rainbow colors and patterns.

While coloring has been around for years, Glindmyer and her team take this new culture to a whole new level.

Glindmyer, who was studying to be a lawyer, says she created the look about three years ago. Today, 95 percent of her clientele is "dyeing" to get it.

At her Scotia salon, Pinup Jordan’s Mermaid Lounge, she posts pictures of every color combination created. That's getting her national attention.

The process is pricey, $200 and up and if it’s not a look for everyone, so be it.
