LATHAM -- A woman who has raised five children in the Capital Region fears she is going to be deported. She is an undocumented immigrant, and a rally is planned for Wednesday on her behalf.

People will gather to stop a deportation at the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services office, also known as Homeland Security.

This is not to be confused with a rally from last week and a woman named Maria Martinez from El Salvador. This is for Elsa Martinez. She has five U.S. born children who all attend Hudson High School.

A group from the Columbia County Sanctuary Movement will be on hand to accompany Elsa Martinez to the office. They want USCIS to not deport her and work with her on her status.

Clergy, community members, labor advocates and elected officials will also be on hand. It's part of International Women's Day rally.

This show of unity is expected at 12:30 p.m., so if it's slow in parts of Latham around lunchtime, now you know why.
