ROTTERDAM -- Things are back to normal in Rotterdam after two water main breaks early Saturday morning.
Crews got word of the first break on Putnam Road off of Campbell Avenue just before 1 a.m. While fixing that one, they discovered another break behind the strip mall nearby around 3:30 a.m.
“Infrastructure is old,” said Town of Rotterdam Highway Superintendent Larry Lamora. “Water main breaks can happen any time. We get them year-round, mostly more in the winter time because of the freezing cold and the heaving of the ground, but we do get 'em year-round.”
Putnam Road was re-opened Saturday morning, and water is back on to all nearby businesses.
