RPI hosts Exploring Engineering Day

TROY - Children were able to roll up their sleeves and get an inside look at a career in engineering on Saturday.

Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute hosted its annual Exploring Engineering Day. Kids were able to participate in engineering activities like creating a marshmallow cooling tower and making squishy circuits. Organizers hope the hands-on approach sparks an interest in the field for young children.

The program launched 15 years ago. Around 300 third through sixth graders were expected at Saturday’s event.
