SARATOGA SPRINGS – It was a somber remembrance Sunday in Saratoga Springs.

Thursday marks the fifth anniversary of the massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary. On December 14, 2012, a gunman shot up the Newtown, Connecticut school, killing 20 young children and six adults.

On Sunday afternoon, members of "Moms Demand Action" gathered at the Sandy Hook Memorial Garden on Meditation Way. They decorated 26 trees in the park, one for every victim.

“There are a lot of kids in our community and a lot of people touched by this tragedy and resolved to end gun violence because of that day,” said Trisha Pleu.

The Town of Milton dedicated the park back in 2013. This was the third year the organization has decorated the trees.
