Saratoga County sheriff's deputy posthumously promoted

Saratoga County Deputy Sheriff John Brown wanted to be an investigator and planned to take the promotional exam. However, Brown died over the weekend while on a training run in Albany. His funeral will be held Friday.

Sheriff Michael Zurlo made a special presentation to Brown's family on Wednesday afternoon.

He posthumously promoted the deputy sheriff to the rank of investigator, saying Brown exemplified the best of the sheriff's office.
