Saratoga Springs Mayor Joanne Yepsen won't seek re-election

Saratoga Springs Mayor Joanne Yepsen says she won’t run for re-election.

She is currently serving her second two-year term.

In an announcement on Friday, Yepsen said new opportunities have opened up, which she looks forward to sharing in the coming months. She also she can’t afford to continue "status quo" on a $14,000 a year salary.

Deputy Mayor Meg Kelly will run to replace her.

Republican Mark Baker announced his candidacy earlier this month.
