Schaghticoke woman arrested after allegedly driving drunk with her child

A 28-year-old woman from Schaghticoke is accused of driving drunk with a child in her car.

Amanda Monroe was arrested on Saturday. State police say she was driving on State Route 40 in Schaghticoke when she lost control, leaving the roadway and crashing into a tree.

Neither she or the child were seriously hurt.

Police say Monroe admitted to taking prescription drugs earlier in the day. They also say she was driving with a suspended license.
