SCHENECTADY -- People in Schenectady are sweating it out to give help to those who need it.

A special workout was held at Barbosium Fitness to benefit the victims of the massive Cohoes fire last month. Anyone who came in with a donation got to work out for free.

The gym has been collecting donations all week to help the fire victims start 2018 on a positive note.

"I know a lot of the families here. I've lived in Cohoes for the past four years, so I'm really closely tied in with that community, and we're looking to try and make as big of a positive impact as we can, after what happened that day," said gym owner Juan Barbosa.

The gym is still collecting donations for the fire victims. So are many local banks.
