CATSKILL -- A Greene County community continues to work to bring home a missing Catskill native.

Steven Beare went missing while climbing Mount Elbrus in Russia back in June. Family and friends are holding fundraisers to pay for the searches. A Zumbathon was held at the Catskill Elks Club on Saturday.

Beare’s mother says it is heartwarming to see the community turn out to support the efforts week after week.

“We are blessed,” said Eileen Beare. “We are blessed with friends and family. We couldn't be happier.”

The next fundraiser will be a spaghetti dinner July 29 at the Palenville Fire Department. If you'd like to donate to the search online, click here.
