Sheehan leads in race for Albany mayor

ALBANY -- Days before Democrats go to the polls, incumbent Kathy Sheehan holds a strong lead in the Albany mayoral race.

That's according to a new poll by the Siena Research Institute and Spectrum News. The results put Sheehan in the lead with 51 percent of the vote.

Common Councilman Frank Commisso Jr. is second with 26 percent, and Common Council president Carolyn McLaughlin is third with 13 percent.

The Democratic primary is Tuesday.
