Hillsdale man accused of firing shotgun at troopers

HILLSDALE -- A Hillsdale man was arrested after allegedly firing a shotgun at troopers.

State Police say they responded to a domestic dispute at a residence on State Rt. 22 on Tuesday. After arriving to the scene, they say 23-year-old Tyler Meltz left the home and fired a shotgun at patrols.

Authorities say Meltz was later found hiding in a nearby car and was taken into custody without further incident.

Meltz was arraigned before the town of Claverack Court and sent to the Columbia County Jail in lieu of $35,000 cash bail or $70,000 bond.
