SLOANSVILLE – A man from Sloansville is charged with forgery and petty larceny.

Stillwater police say Jeffrey Johnston entered the Price Chopper Thursday and stole a large amount of food. He was arrested while trying to getaway.

Police say Johnston gave them a different name to hide the fact there was an active warrant for his arrest on another charge.

He was sent to the Saratoga County Jail on $5,000 bail.
