Small, neglected dog found abandoned in Schoharie County

Police are searching for the people who abandoned a small, neglected dog on a Schoharie County road.

The Schoharie County sheriff says "Milly" was dropped off from a car along State Route 7 on Oak Hill Tuesday night. Witnesses say the car was occupied by two men.

They were able to catch the dog after it took off running. It's now at the Animal Shelter of Schoharie Valley.

The sheriff says the dog has several health issues because of neglect.
