Road crews ready for upcoming storm

The state Thruway Authority and Department of Transportation have been getting ready for the snow season.

"Right now, as of today, we're sort of in a holding pattern. We are obviously prepping the equipment, making sure the plow blades are in good shape, the engines are running, everything like that. So a lot of maintenance type stuff happening," explained Bryan Viggiani with the New York State Department of Transportation.

While crews were on 12-hour shifts, they have stepped back to eight-hour shifts due to the snow predictions being lowered.
