October 04, 2017 05:16 AM

ALBANY -- The speed limit in an Albany neighborhood is being reduced Wednesday.

The move will effect a portion of South Pearl Street between 1st Avenue and old South Pearl Street. That’s where the Ezra Prentice Apartments are. Residents have called for a lower speed limit since a 7-year-old child was killed crossing the street in 2013.

That stretch of South Pearl Street will drop from 30 miles per hour to 25.
