Hudson Falls woman accused of stealing purse

A Hudson Falls woman is behind bars on multiple charges.

The Washington County Sheriff's Office arrested 29-year-old Stacey Altarac on Thursday. Authorities say Altarac caught a ride in South Glens Falls from a stranger. When the woman dropped her off on Seventh Street in Hudson Falls, they say she stole her purse and took off on foot.

Police were able to track Altarac down by following footprints in the snow. Altarac was charged with robbery, grand larceny and harassment.

She was sent to the Washington County Jail due to a lack of bail. Authorities say the purse was located but some of its contents are still missing.
