Victim of deadly Stockport train accident identified

Police have identified the man struck and killed by a train in Columbia County early Tuesday morning.

The Columbia County Sheriff's Office says 42-year-old Matthew Harris of Philmont was killed by an Amtrak work train around 2 a.m. They say it happened near Station Road in the Town of Stockport. Harris was found north of the Columbiaville Trestle on the tracks.

An investigation is underway.
