'This Is Us' star recalls seeing first script

NewsChannel 13 caught up with one of the stars of the NBC show "This Is Us."

Susan Ketechi Watson plays Beth Pierson. She talked about the cast and crew crying while shooting emotional scenes and the idea that she never looked at the show as a hit.

She says she saw the script and said it was something she had to do.

"I haven't read anything like this and it really surprised me even as a reader. You know, it was one thing as I was reading it, I could see it unfolding in my mind as I was reading it, which is always a really good sign. When you can see it clearly, it means it's so well written," she explained.
