Tractor trailer crash injures driver in Westerlo

WESTERLO - A tractor trailer driver is hurt after his rig rolls over and spills thousands of gallons of liquid manure.

The truck went off the road Monday morning at Route 411 and Silver Creek Road in Westerlo.

Crews on the scene tell NewsChannel 13 the roof of the cab crushed the driver, trapping him. They say the truck's contents complicated rescue efforts.

The driver was flown to Albany Medical Center. There is no word yet on his injuries, or on what caused him to lose control of the truck.

The Department of Environmental Conservation was called in to help with the clean-up.
